What for:
In the first meetings of the training course seniors usually have the opinion that in their community nothing happens, that life is somewhere OUTSIDE. This activity give new view to their place, possibilities and their own life

DURATION:
30-60 min
OBJECTIVES:
1. To get know each other/group better
2. To broaden their horizons of the possibilities in each communities
3. To emphasise the importance of each experience
4. To promote participation in local community as a tool to get know experiences and skills
METHODOLOGY:
Discovery based learning. Group uses discussions and internal resources methodology,
Also used visualisation and creating new view material to descry situation.
MATERIALS AND RESOURCES NEEDED:
1. Coloured A 4 papers (amount depends on the size of territory )
2. Markers
3. Small paper labels
4. Room bog enough to put the map (on the floor or wall)
STEP BY STEP PROCESS:
1. Introduction
Advisor make introduction to the group. Important is to make first input about territory what are represented by participants. There can be examples given to participants.
2. Giving the tools
Group receives papers and markers. On one page can be written only one “possibilities place” (organisation, enterprise, touristic spot, clubs, nature objects ext,)
3. Searching
Group together are creating a map of different possibilities in their community. Challenge is to do as much as possible.
4. Sharing and adding
When the map is created group is making presentation of the map – with explanation- why concrete object is possibility place in community
5. Attaching experiences
Each participant individually receives small paper labels and write his/her own experience in all the “possibilities”. It can be different- job experience, free time experience, voluntary work ext. After writing, stick papers on big map.
6. Sharing
Each participants share with others his experience and also wishes what he/she would like to do in future in places mentioned in the Map.
OUTCOMES:
1. Participants recognises community resources
2. Group knows better each other and different experiences (human resources)
3. Group gives feedback about get local place possibilities and people possibilities to get news skills, experiences
EVALUATION:
This is great tool to make group start to work together as it shows popper of group work -teamwork. That can be associated also in life situations – that to see real situation, possibilities, each of us should step out of habitual viewpoint.
After activity have been done – all the participants agreed that there is much more in community as they see in everyday, what can be proposal to use all the resources first what are available and only then there can be statements about real possibilities.
